    * Only schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Certificate (IBCC). 
    ** Mission Statement : The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better an more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.  To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.  These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

    VUSD Names 2019 Golden Apple Recipient

                                                 

    Leethel Farmer has served students of VUSD for more than 19 years. She has been instrumental in Casita Center’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Global School authorization. As the IB coordinator, she provides professional development to teachers at her site. She is also a respected IB leader throughout the state of California and the country.

    Teachers, parents, and students come to Leethel for mentoring and support. She provides feedback to help teachers strengthen their instructional practices and supports all students to ensure success. She was influential in the creation and development of Casita’s Schoolyard Habitat, which launched many global community partnerships for the school.
